The Brief
This program had to do two jobs at once: run the group's formal business sessions properly, and give 150 delegates a genuine Tropical North experience around them. Port Douglas gave both room to work, and MAD built a program where the business side felt considered rather than bolted on, styled to match the wider event rather than treated as a separate track.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
A four-day business meeting and conference program in Port Douglas for FCM client delegates from around Australia. The program opened quietly with an intimate executive dinner for 25 at Silky Oaks Lodge's Riverbank, the night before the wider group arrived. The following day, the full group came together for a cocktail event at Sugar Wharf, festoon lighting and open bars looking out over the water ahead of the business sessions beginning.
The next day brought the icons of the region to the fore: a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony opened the morning, then the group split by choice, sailing, a Segway tour along the beach, or a river drift through the rainforest, before an evening reception back on land at Nautilus.
The program's final night was its biggest: a Gala Dinner for the full group of 150 at the Glade at Sheraton Grand Mirage, styled tropical through and through, lush greenery, fresh fruit worked into the centrepieces and stage design, and warm lighting carrying the theme from the lawn into the marquee.
