The Brief
This program was rebuilt for Hobart at short notice after the original European travel plans had to be changed. The group was high-end and well-travelled, and wanted the finer things done properly: exceptional food, wine and experiences that felt genuinely hard to come by. Years of running Asia Pacific incentive groups, and just as many spent building programs in Hobart, meant MAD could turn a fast-moving brief into a program that still felt considered and high-end.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
Guests arrived in Hobart for a walking tour through Salamanca Place and Battery Point, then a welcome dinner at Waterline Restaurant. The program moved through a private ferry crossing to MONA, lunch at The Source restaurant, and a Pennicott Ironpot wilderness cruise that doubled as the transfer to McHenry's Distillery for a mountaintop stargazing dinner. When cloud rolled in on the night, the team swapped the live sky for a projected one so the astronomer's session went ahead regardless.
The next day opened with a teambuilding morning at Redbanks, six activities and six teams, then a long lunch at Frogmore Creek winery. As lunch wound down, a fleet of helicopters arrived over the vineyard to fly the group across Hobart, the Derwent and Mount Wellington, before a return flight and a final wine tasting back at Frogmore. The day closed with the Gala Awards Dinner at Glen Albyn Estate, fairies and mulled wine on arrival, a paparazzi photographer working the room, then a full sit-down dinner, awards ceremony, five-piece band and dancing into the night.
The final day let guests choose their own send off, Port Arthur's history, the Seafood Seduction tour straight off the boat, or jet boating on the Huon River and the Tahune AirWalk. A program shaped around Tasmania at its best, right to the end.
PROBLEM SOLVING
An hour before guests arrived for the Gala Awards Dinner, the floor plan changed. With the candles already lit, MAD and the team at Glen Albyn Estate worked together to move and reset the tables, calmly and quickly, so everything was ready well before the first coach pulled up. Guests walked in with no idea anything had changed.
